So... what's a credit score and why is it important?

A credit score is a number (usually between 300 and 850) that represents your creditworthiness. It’s a standardized measurement that financial institutions and credit card companies use to determine risk level when considering issuing you a loan or a credit card. Basically, it provides a snapshot of how likely you are to repay your debts on time. Having a good credit score is important because it can mean lower interest rates on loans and other forms of credit.

Fox Communities Credit Union is a full-service, not-for-profit financial institution serving members throughout Wisconsin.

Fox First Rewards rate is variable and based on the Prime Rate (currently 7.50% as of 12.19.2024), plus a margin of 7.49% for purchases; and 9.49% for cash advances and balance transfers. The APR may increase or decrease as identified by the Wall Street Journal ‘Prime Rate’. The interest rate can change monthly on the first day of each month following a change in the Prime Rate. The APR will never be more than 27%. Any increase will lengthen the time it takes to pay off your loan. APR is based on creditworthiness at the time the account is established. No annual membership fee, cash advance or balance transfer fee. A foreign transaction fee is 1% of each transaction in US dollars. “Cash Back Rewards” are rewards you earn under the program. Cash back rewards are tracked as points and each $1 in cash back rewards earned is equal to 1 point on eligible Net purchases charged to the card.
