Week 3: Three’s Company, Too ($3, that is)
It’s Week 3 of the 52 Week Savings Challenge so you know what that means? We’re putting $3 into our sub-savings account (I’m using the royal “we” here because we’re all saving, right?).
Anyway, I’m getting pretty awesome at this online banking transfer stuff:
It took me approximately 55 seconds to log into my online banking account from Fox’s website, and then complete the transfer. Not bad, eh?
Developing Savings Strategies
Following this plan doesn’t mean you have to deprive yourself of things you normally buy (at least, not all the time). I’m actually finding myself looking for better deals on basic necessities (toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner, toothpaste, etc.). It really helps that for the most part, I’m not partial to any particular brands. For instance, I love Special K Fruit & Yogurt cereal. It’s a splendid way to start the morning. Well, I recently discovered a store brand version that tastes exactly the same and costs $1.20 less for the same amount. Now, it doesn’t always work out this way. There are some brand name products that are far superior to their store brand counterparts. But I don’t mind making these discoveries because they’re ultimately going to save me money in the long run.
