Culinary Challenge
Posted on by Lynn Marie HopfenspergerSince the inception of Restaurant Week in Green Bay courtesy of the Greater Green Bay Convention & Visitors Bureau, Fox Communities Credit Union has been a part of this fun week. This year there was a little twist to the program. On Tuesday, July 7, Pulaski High School and Preble High School had the very first Culinary Challenge featuring 10 teams from the schools’ culinary programs.
The public were invited to attend and try out some yummy cuisine and put their votes in the food they liked most. The cost was $10 and all the proceeds benefit the culinary education programs at Pulaski and Preble High School. My personal favorites were the young lady who made the mac & cheese and shared how it was her grandfathers and her concoction and because of her grandfather she joined the culinary program; the other was her partner at the table because she explained in detail how they made the chocolate stuffed raspberries which were so good!
I just heard from Jessica Diedrich from the Convention Center that Preble won the trophy. Both schools put on a nice spread, and hopefully they’ll do this again next year, and I urge you to go and sample all the goodies, I know I will!
