Weeks 10 & 11: Careless Purchases
Posted on by Lindsay DiedrichAs you can see, I’m covering two weeks in this post. From now on, I’ll be posting every other week because, well, (toss me the honesty stick, would you please?) I over committed. And do you really want to hear me blab on a weekly basis for a total of 52 weeks (my boyfriend isn’t allowed to answer this question)? Whew, felt good to get that off my chest.
Onward to the Savings!
Weeks 10 and 11 call for a deposit of ten and eleven dollars (this isn’t quantum physics). These deposits bring my 52 Week Sub Savings account to a total of $66! Step aside Bill Gates (richest person in the world as of 3/2/15).
Careless Purchases
Careless purchases. I think everyone is guilty of them. I made a careless purchase this week. I had a favorite pair of jeans bite the dust recently, throwing my whole wardrobe rotation way out of whack. Hasty solution? Impulsively grab a pair off the rack, eyeball them for size & fit, then checkout at the register. Easy, right? Wrong.
I get home, put them on… well, struggled to put them on and realize: I’ve made a huge mistake. Now I have to find the receipt, go back to the store and return them. That’s everyone’s favorite thing to do, right? Return items at a store. But I don’t want to eat $35, especially since what I bought won’t even get used.
Moral of the Story
If you’re gonna buy clothes, try them on! If you don’t, you’re running the risk of wasting money, gas, and giving yourself more errands. See you at Weeks 12 & 13!
