“Seven Wonders” by Fleetwood Mac reached number 19 on Billboard’s Hot 100 in 1987. I was only three years old but since the soundtrack of my childhood consisted heavily of my parents’ mixed tapes, I’m a Fleetwood Mac fan to this day.

A Lesson in Haggling

Though this story takes place during this past year’s Christmas season, it pertains to saving money – which is why you’re reading this, right? On with it. My boyfriend and I were out Christmas shopping for our parents and stopped at Sam’s Club, at which I’m a member, via my extremely generous parents. We had our eye on a desktop computer for my boyfriend’s parents as they didn’t have one at the time. Turns out, the particular model we wanted was out of stock and was not going to be re-ordered. Bummer, right? Wrong. We bought the floor model at a $150 discount – nearly a third of the price we paid. That’s a score in my book. Fast forward nearly six months later and my boyfriend’s parents have a computer on which they can surf the net for lighthouse and airplane pictures to their hearts’ content.
