Bay Port High School Scholarship Program
Fox Communities Credit Union will award a $500.00 scholarship to a Bay Port High School senior who demonstrates community service and academic achievement.
Eligible applicants must:
1) Be a primary, active member of FCCU
2) Be a graduating, high school senior
3) Demonstrate a commitment to community service
4) Begin college within one year of judging notification
Scholarship applications can be downloaded by clicking here. They are also available at all Fox Communities Credit Union branches, including the in-school branch and your guidance counselors. To qualify, applications must be postmarked or dropped off at any of our branches by March 26, 2010. Winners will be announced on April 30, 2009.
All applicants must submit:
1) A completed, typed application (click the link above)
2) An official (raised seal or signature) sealed high school transcript (as of 1/31/2009) with a minimum cumulative 2.75 GPA
3) A 100-300 word original, typewritten, double spaced essay.
This year’s question:
What does it mean to you to be financially responsible? If possible, please give examples.
Each applicant will be scored in three areas of concentration:
1) Essay (50 points)
2) Community Involvement (40 points)
3) GPA (10 points)
Handwritten or incomplete applications will be disqualified.
Each winner must agree to allow FCCU to use his/her name and photograph in our promotional materials. Decisions of the judging panel are final. FCCU is not responsible for lost or misdirected mail. All submitted materials become the property of FCCU.
*Based on demand, the Credit Union would reserve the right to withhold the award of any of the scholarships.
*FCCU employees, directors, committee members and their immediate families are not eligible.
